Happy Frog Jumping Day!

19 May

Today is the anniversary of the first ever frog jumping contest, held May 19, 1918.

Jumping like a frog over people is awesome.  I remember doing it during field day in high school–each grade would line up across the soccer fields and then people would just run/waddle over a row 100 people long to get to the end.  Whoever got everyone in their grade to the end the fastest won.  This was a field day activity that did not leaving me bleeding on the gym floor, in need of stitches–but that’s a story for another post.

I’m lucky enough to be in Boston today, so here’s a photo of the two classiest frogs in Boston, hanging out by the Frog Pond.
